The Saskatchewan Rush of the National Lacrosse League (NLL) inked their largest partnership deal in franchise history with the Saskatchewan Co-op.
The five-year agreement included a re-naming of the playing turf to ‘Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre.’ Additionally, local Co-op stores will sell single-game tickets at a discounted rate.
Rush owner Bruce Urban said the organization wanted to partner with local provincial brands, including Original 16, SaskTel, Shoeless Joe’s, Sask Lacrosse and Western RV Country.
Currently, the turf which the Rush compete on is the oldest in the NLL at 12 years. The new deal will allow the Rush to get a new playing surface.
Defenceman Ryan Dilks, who signed a three-year extension with the club on Sept. 23, expressed his excitement at the partnership.
“Just to have that new turf, in our building, with our colours, it’s really something cool and it’s really a foundation for this organization,” Dilks said.
“It’s the largest corporate partnership deal in the history of the team, and I think it shows extra strong confidence in both the sport of lacrosse and this organization,” Urban said.
The Rush will play on the new surface at Co-op Field at SaskTel Centre when they host the Georgia Swarm in an exhibition game on Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. CT.
