There was a heavy police presence in downtown Vancouver Wednesday evening after police received information that a man was in crisis and possibly armed.
Multiple officers and vehicles converged outside the Del Mar Inn on Hamilton Street between Dunsmuir Street West Pender Street around 6 p.m.

Officers, seen carrying rifles and shields and wearing tactical gear, attempted to make contact with the man to check on this well-being.
After several hours of investigation, police say the man was found nearby and transported to hospital for medical assessment.
No criminal charges are being recommended.
