Man in a gorilla mask robs 7-11 west of Edmonton

RCMP west of Edmonton are looking for tips after a man wearing a gorilla mask robbed a convenience store on Monday.

Officers from the Stony Plain/Spruce Grove/Enoch RCMP detachment were called to the 7-11 just off Highway 16A in the early morning hours of Sept. 18.

Witnesses told police a man came into the store wearing a gorilla mask and carrying a wrench and chisel in his hand. He demanded money from the clerk.

He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and goods and fled on foot. No one was injured in the robbery.

RCMP called in the police dog team, but they were unable to locate the man.
