The RCMP are investigating to determine what led to a deadly crash north of Camrose, Alta. on Tuesday.

Mounties were called to a crash involving a car and a pickup truck at Township Road 472 and Highway 833 just after 11 a.m. Police said officers determined a 27-year-old man from Tofield, who was a passenger in the car, had died at the scene.

The driver of the car and another passenger were taken to hospital in Edmonton with serious injuries while police said the two people in the pickup truck were not injured.

RCMP investigators believe the car was headed east on Township Road 472 before trying to turn north onto the highway when it collided with the southbound pickup truck.

Mounties said “all contributing factors (are) being explored” as the investigation into what happened continues.

Police said the name of the man who died will not be released.
