St. Thomas police are investigating after a hiker made a gruesome discovery.
The resident contacted police Wednesday at around 3 p.m. after locating a dead dog inside a box in Athletic Park.
The hiker was just north of the pathway that leads from the east side of the park to Hiawatha Street when they came across the large box that was emitting a foul odour.
