Charges have been laid against a man arrested by Edmonton police in an alleged March 2017 sexual assault.
Officers were called on April 10, 2017, regarding a sexual assault that occurred 10 days earlier.
A woman in her late 50s reported being sexually assaulted by a man between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. in the area of 72 Street and 81 Avenue on March 31.

Police said the woman knew the man as an acquaintance. She told officers he contacted her after a number of years and allegedly sexually assaulted her during their brief visit.
Edmonton police did not elaborate on the nature of their relationship.

Last Thursday, investigators turned to the public for help identifying a man after investigating the alleged sexual assault for five months and “exhausting all other investigative avenues.”
The next day, police said the suspect was identified and taken into custody “without incident,” as a result of media and public assistance.
Huu Minh Huynh, 52, has been charged with sexual assault.
