A group photo of a trio police officers posted to Facebook by a Florida police department created such a stir that the department needed to issue an update asking people not to call “do not call 9-1-1 and request this group respond to your ‘incident.’”
The original posting featured a selfie of Officers Nordman, Hamill and Rengering who are “part of the night crew getting ready to do some work.”

The picture of the photogenic trio taken in the middle of Irma, has been liked over 460,000 times and has been shared by over 250,000 people.
The Gainesville Police Department’s photo has also received 250,000 comments which range from slightly hilarious to outright audacious.
One woman suggested the department, “do a calendar, add puppies and I’m pretty sure we can rebuild Texas and Florida.”
Another woman wrote, “This pic is exactly why your grandmother always told you to wear clean underwear in case you’re in an accident.”
A third asked, “Uhm, a court date is still a ‘date’ right?!”

Eventually the Gainesville Police Department was forced to issue an update to the original posting.
It noted that two of the three police officers were married while the third was being placed into “Cougar Prey Protective Care, similar to the witness protection program for his safety.”
The department also said that “there WILL be a calendar.”
