Winnipeg Jets conclude Young Stars Classic with win over Calgary Flames

The Winnipeg Jets prospects salvaged the Young Stars Classic with a win on Monday in Penticton, B.C.

In their final game of the rookie tournament the Jets handed the Calgary Flames prospects a 4-1 defeat.

Jansen Harkins scored twice for the Jets in the victory. Cristiano DiGiacinto also beat Flames netminder Mason McDonald while Kristian Reichel scored into the empty net to seal the win.

Jets goalie Mikhail Berdin wasn’t overly busy in the Jets net as he stopped nine of the 10 shots he faced. Flames forward Dillon Dube beat Berdin in the first period to give Calgary the early lead, but the Jets rattled off four consecutive goals to pick up the victory.

The Jets finished the rookie tournament with a win and two losses and will now return to Winnipeg for the start of main training camp on Friday.
