A 17-year-old Lethbridge, Alta. boy is facing 10 drug trafficking and possession charges after an investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT).
The teen, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested on Sept. 7 with the assistance of the Lethbridge police service.
In a release on Monday, ALERT said the boy had approximately $3,900 worth of drugs on him at the time of his arrest including methamphetamine, cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, cannabis resin and marijuana. He also reportedly had a baton and brass knuckles, cash, two cell phones and other drug paraphernalia in his possession.

“Drug trafficking continues to be a problem for communities across Alberta, and Lethbridge is no exception,” Staff Sgt. Jason Walper of ALERT Lethbridge said in a release. “Every seizure we make plays a part in making our streets safer.”
The suspect has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance, three counts each of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon and two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon.
