Hamilton police have charged a local teenager following a fatal head-on crash last month.
It’s after a 2008 Ford F150 pickup truck collided with a 2002 Volkswagen Beetle on Upper James and Homestead Drive on August 29.
The driver of the Beetle, from Welland, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other driver was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they arrested a 19-year-old man Friday and have charged him with dangerous driving causing death.
He has been released on a promise to appear in court next month.
Police say the investigation is ongoing but confirm that speed was a factor.
The collision was the 13th motor vehicle fatality in Hamilton this year.
