A month-long investigation has culminated in numerous charges being laid on two individuals and it all began with a hit and run, according to Halifax Regional Police.
Police say that on Aug. 16 at 5:35 p.m., police received a report of a collision between two vehicles on St. Margaret’s Bay Road. An SUV driven by a 21-year-old woman was turning right onto Lakelands Boulevard when she was rear-ended by a white rental truck.
The truck left the scene and was driven by a white man. A white female passenger was also seen in the vehicle.
Police later saw the same truck at 7 p.m. pulling into Green Acres Road.
Police arrested 25-year-old Meghan Elizabeth Anderson of Halifax 26 minutes later outside a residence on Green Acres Road for a previous breach of recognizance.
Police searched the residence and eventually located and arrested 25-year-old Donald Patrick Raymond Sabine.

Police say that Sabine and Anderson were to not have contact with one another in relation to prior incidents.
After her arrest, Anderson reportedly assaulted an officer and was eventually charged with assaulting a police officer, misleading police, and eight counts of breaching a recognizance.
Sabine was charged with two counts of breaching a probation order and one count of breaching a recognizance.
Both appeared in court on Aug. 17 to face their respective charges.
Police say the investigation into the hit and run is ongoing.

Construction theft sites
While searching the residence on Green Acres Road, police saw a lot of construction tools in cases.
Police eventually got a search warrant, carrying it out just before 5 p.m. on Aug. 17.
As a result of the search, officers seized a quantity of stolen items including Dewalt tools, Milwaukee tools, levels, hand tools and skill saws.
Police say that these items had been linked to multiple thefts from construction sites in the area. Police say they’ve since identified the owners and returned the items.
On Sept. 7 officers raided the home on Green Acres Road and arrested Anderson and Sabine without incident.
Both of them face five counts each of possession of property obtained by crime.
The pair was held overnight and were scheduled to appear in court Friday to face those charges.
