The hill at Diefenbaker Park would be raised by over 30 feet, which would create 400 feet of usable slope.
Plans for phase one of the project include a tube hill park and a snow terrain park, along with snowboard and ski areas.
There will also be a conveyor belt lift and expansions will be made to the existing toboggan runs.
Snowboarders Craig and Mark McMorris have thrown their support behind the Optimist Hill campaign and Saskatoon-based Catterall & Wright Consulting Engineers has been chosen as lead project managers.
