Manitoba RCMP investigate after body found lying on Highway 1 near Richer

Steinbach RCMP are investigating after the body of a Winnipeg man was found lying on Highway 1 Saturday.

Just before 3 a.m. RCMP received reports of a man lying in the eastbound lane of Highway 1, six kilometres east of Richer, Man. near Fire Road #13.

The 47-year-old Winnipeg man was pronounced dead at the scene and RCMP said it’s unclear how he died.

“There are some questions surrounding the death of this individual that investigators are actively trying to answer,” Tara Seel Manitoba RCMP spokesperson said Tuesday.
