Hamilton’s McMaster University has taken a major leap in global rankings of universities.
Times Higher Education’s influential World University Rankings has bumped McMaster up 35 spots to number 78.
It’s the biggest improvement of any of the institutions in the top 100.
The Global rankings consider the number of research papers published by the university or cited in other academic material, academic performance, teaching, and international outlook.
McMaster’s results land the university in the top one per cent of universities around the world.
Canada’s top two universities in the rankings are the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia.
