Air Canada flight makes emergency landing at YVR Airport

A nationwide outage is affecting Air Canada's systems, leading to problems at airports across the country. Global News

An Air Canada flight made an emergency landing at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) on Wednesday night.

A spokesperson from the airport said that Flight AC 7, a Boeing 777, departed YVR Wednesday afternoon for Hong Kong but safely turned around to land back at YVR at around 7:30 p.m.

In a statement from Air Canada, the airline said the flight was forced to turn back due to a hydraulic indication. The flight landed normally.

“As per standard operating procedures and as a precautionary measure, the crew requested airport services presence. Passengers re-departed a few hours later on another aircraft.”
