30 degree heat to end off August, but will it come at a cost?
Saskatoon Forecast
Today
After reaching 31 degrees on Sunday, we fell back to 10 degrees to start the final work week of August.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies began the day with temperatures quickly warming into the upper 20s by noon.
We’re shooting for another daytime high around 30 degrees in the city under predominantly sunny skies
Tonight
Mostly clear skies will stick around tonight as we dip back to a low around 10 degrees or so.
Tuesday
Slightly cooler air slips in tomorrow as we catch tail end of a cold front that’ll keep us under a light northeasterly wind during the day that could bring in some smoke from fires in northeast Saskatchewan.
Sunshine should start the day before a few clouds slip in later in the day as we rise up to 26 degrees or so in the afternoon.
Wednesday-Friday
An upper ridge will shift us back into the heat mid-week with daytime highs in the 30s Wednesday and Thursday before a cold front kicks us back into the mid 20s on Friday with windy conditions expected right through the rest of the week and some smoke possible early on as well.
Mostly sunny skies are expected for Wednesday before clouds and a risk of showers build in Thursday before clearing out on Friday.
Long Weekend Outlook
The September long weekend is shaping up to be a bit cooler with afternoon highs back into the mid 20s to start the weekend before dipping into the low 20s into Labour Day Monday with clouds in and out.
