A 28-year-old man is in police custody following a major crash on Highway 20 East in Boucherville, early Sunday morning.
Emergency crews were alerted at 3:50 a.m., of a crash involving two vehicles near the Nobel Street exit of Highway 20.
Police said the driver of a Chevy Malibu lost control of his car and collided with a SUV.
The SUV then went off-road, hitting a pole before coming to a stop on the median.

Both drivers were rushed to hospital.
The driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries. As of noon on Sunday, his condition was listed as critical.
The other man was released from hospital into police custody.
Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Stéphane Tremblay said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
“Seems like the driver of the Malibu may have lost control of his car, maybe caused by a state of intoxication or driving dangerously — we don’t know,” he said.
Highway 20 East was closed for several hours between exit 93 and 95, as collision experts investigated.
The highway was reopened to motorists at 10:20 a.m.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday.
