Grass fire breaks out near Kelowna’s Black Mountain

Fire crews are reported to be making good progress on the Black Mountain fire in Kelowna. While the blaze isn’t contained, it isn’t spreading either.

The fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon off Highway 33 near Black Mountain in Kelowna.

The call came in shortly after 1 p.m. The fire grew to just over two hectares before crews got a handle on it.

The fire came as close as 200 metres away from homes.
