Meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm near Forest headed east towards Parkhill.
Local rainfall amounts of 50 millimetres in an hour or less are possible in localities that are affected by very slow moving storms. Damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and nickel-sized hail are also possible.
The national weather service says intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads and lightning can be deadly.
The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that people take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
