Cobourg police have charged a man following an alleged sexual assault said to have happened in the parking lot of a business in the west end of Cobourg last week.
A woman told police late Tuesday night that she’d been inside her car when a man approached and assaulted her.

At the time, police said they did not believe there was an imminent threat to the public, but they asked residents of Cobourg to be “vigilant” about strangers.
Gary Vaters, 63, of Bobcaygeon, Ont. was arrested July 11.
