When they arrived they found 49-year-old Regina Fernandez seriously injured.  Fernandez later died in hospital.

Police say Monfort and Fernandez knew each other.

A source told Global News on Wednesday the woman was bludgeoned to death and says the man arrested at the scene was her son.

RCMP have not yet confirmed any of these details.
