Police ask public for help to find suspect in violent, random Edmonton home invasion

The Edmonton Police Service has released a composite sketch of a man suspected of stabbing another man during a violent and random home invasion in north Edmonton last month.

Police said officers were called to a reported stabbing at a home in the area of 118 Avenue and 39 Street on Saturday, May 6, 2017. They were told the home was broken into and a suspect “confronted and stabbed” the 43-year-old man who lived there in the chest.

He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said they believe the victim and suspect did not know one another.

The suspect is described as being between 35 and 42 years old, and is about 5’8″ to 5’10” with a slim build.

He has dark hair and a “cauliflower ear,” which police described as “an ear shape consistent with someone who participates in sports like boxing, wrestling or mixed martial arts.”
