The manager of an animal shelter in Flin Flon, Man., said she was horrified to find the bloodied body of a little dog during a walk Monday night.
Carmen Ward and her husband were out walking their own dogs when they came across the body of a Chihuahua in a sandy area off a backwoods road.
Ward said she believes it had been beaten, as a log covered with blood and hair was found lying next to it.

“The eyeballs were protruding, the intestines were lying on the outside of the stomach…it was obviously a horrific death,” Ward said. “It looked tortured. This is animal cruelty times ten.”
The mangager of the Flin Flon/Creighton SPCA has called RCMP. A blurred photo of the dog has also been posted to facebook, in hopes of uncovering more details.
It’s been shared by thousands, with an anonymous donation of $500 offered as a possible reward for more information.
“It’s such a shame. It doesn’t need to be this way,” Ward said. “If there were problems…there are places for animals to go.”
