A Calgary man has been ordered to stand trial for two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Sara Baillie and her five-year-old daughter Taliyah Marsman.

Provincial court judge Gerry Meagher made the decision Monday afternoon, ruling there is enough evidence to commit Edward Downey to stand trial.

The case will be back in court Aug. 4 to set a trial date.
