Hamilton police release photo of alleged Ancaster carjacker

Hamilton police have released an image of a suspect who allegedly carjacked an Ancaster woman.

Police say they are looking for a male between 16 and 18 years old, described as Middle Eastern/white, 5’7″ with a thin build and thin face.

He had a patch of hair below his bottom lip, and was wearing skinny jogging pants, a red-and-black hoodie, and white running shoes.

Police allege the teenager robbed the woman in her 80s at gunpoint Thursday afternoon after hiding in the back seat of her vehicle that was parked outside the Best Buy in the Meadowlands area.

Police say the man rummaged through the victim’s purse and made her withdraw cash from an ATM.

At one point, police say he forced the woman into the passenger seat and drove her around the city before eventually getting out at Rebecca Street and Mary Street.

The woman was not physically injured.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
