WWE WrestleMania 33 stage catches fire after Undertaker’s exit
His iconic music played and the lights went dark, as he made his way up the ramp until he raised his hands, which prompted an explosion of pyrotechnics.
As his pyrotechnics went off during his exit, which followed his loss to Roman Reigns, the stage briefly caught fire before it was extinguished by stadium workers. There were no injuries reported.
Some fans captured the moment on video and in photos.
This moment was similar to Undertaker’s pyrotechnics mishap that injured multiple people at the same venue for WrestleMania 24.
A cable snapped causing a shower of fire to fall into the crowd which reportedly injured 30 to 35 people and led to multiple hospitalizations.
There is no word thus far on what specifically caused the fire this time or how it can be prevented in the future.
The stage fire wasn’t the only moment that sparked a flame at WrestleMania 33.
John Cena proposed to longtime girlfriend Nikki Bella during the wrestling event on Sunday night.
Cena took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the WWE network for allowing him to propose to Bella in the ring after they both won their mixed tag team match.
“I want to thank my always expressive “family” the @WWEUniverse for allowing me to have a #WrestleMania moment that I will NEVER forget!” he wrote.
Bella, whose real name is Stephanie Nicole Garcia-Colace, shared the moment on Instagram, writing, “My Prince Charming has made me his Queen in a place we call home.”
