Avid beachgoers can soak in the sun all they want this summer, with a slash in parking prices at Port Stanley saving them a few bucks.
Seasonal parking fees at the popular beach in Central Elgin are set to decrease starting May 1 following a dip in activity the first year they were introduced in 2013.

City staff hope to increase the number of seasonal passes sold by cutting fees for cars from $137 to $100 and vehicle boat trailers from $176 to $100.
Although pass holders will save on trips to the Lake Erie beach, it will cost more for others to play in the sand a handful of times.
Day parking fees are set to rise to $3 per hour or $15 a day at the main beach and Lotus Lane.
However, full-day parking fees will remain untouched at the Old Ball Park lot and Lakes Terminal lots, as well as the $20 boat launch fee.
