The University of Saskatchewan (U of S) College of Dentistry announced Tuesday morning that the very first “Dental Day YXE” would take place next month and it’s already booked up.
Due to overwhelming demand, the college reported Tuesday afternoon that the program has reached its capacity for the event taking place on April 8.
The main objective is to provide free dental care to individuals and families who are unable to access treatment due to financial constraints.

Free treatments include cleanings, denture repair, extractions, fillings and root canal therapy.
“We can impact many lives by relieving people of dental pain and improving oral health,” Dr. Alyssa Hayes, an assistant professor of dental public health at U of S, said in a release.
“It is also a great way to bring the profession together and strengthen those bonds as a dental community as well as to the communities we serve on a daily basis.”
The Saskatchewan dental community will donate their time and expertise in the Dental Clinic Building at 105 Wiggins Rd. from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. CT.
