Environment Canada issued freezing rain and snowfall warning in parts of Saskatchewan on Wednesday.
Drivers and pedestrians are urged to take caution as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
Snowfall warnings are in place in north-central Saskatchewan for 10 to 15 centimetres of snow expected in some areas.
Snow is expected to start over the Buffalo Narrows and La Ronge regions early this afternoon and spread to Pelican Narrows later in the day.

Saskatoon Forecast
Today
It was a messy start to the morning with freezing rain temperatures a few degrees below freezing, down to -4 with wind chills in minus double digits.
The low pressure system swinging through brought a mix of freezing rain and ice pellets from mid-to-late morning before clearing out before the noon hour with the mercury two degrees below freezing.
The warm front associated with the system will boost temperatures up into mid-positive single digits this afternoon under mostly cloudy skies for the rest of the day with winds around 20 to 30 km/h.
Tonight
We’ll get a bit of clearing tonight that’ll allow the mercury to fall back into mid-minus single digits with a chance of fog patches developing as winds ease off overnight.
Thursday
Minus double digits is what it’ll feel like Thursday morning with wind chill under predominantly cloudy skies through the day.
We should rise up above freezing by midday with an afternoon high in mid-positive single digits expected.
There’s a slight chance of a few flurries Thursday night into Friday as a disturbance ripples through.
Friday
Southeasterly winds will pick up through the day on Friday as a low pressure system develops in Alberta.
Temperatures should top out in mid-single digits again with clouds building back in during the day and a chance of showers overnight as the system swings through.
Weekend Outlook
Saturday is expected to start out cloudy with a chance of morning showers before skies clear during the day as we rise up to an afternoon high in double digits.
Sunday is shaping up to be sunnier but likely a few degrees cooler with a daytime high in high single digits.
