Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre says a funeral service will be held in the city Thursday for three of the six men who died in last Sunday’s mosque shooting in Quebec City.
Coderre tweeted Wednesday morning the ceremony will be held at Maurice-Richard Arena for Hassane Abdelkrim, Khaled Belkacemi and Aboubaker Thabti.

There will be prayers for the three other victims.
The doors will open to the public at 11:30 a.m.
Coderre said two of the men are from Algeria and the third is from Tunisia.
“Since we’re working with the consulate, it was easier to do it in Montreal,” Coderre said. “It was just based on pure logistic.”
Patrice Chavegros, from the funeral home Magnus Poirier says 2,000 to 3,000 people are expected to attend.

“We have one chance to show to the world that we are close knit and to show we are strong because we are together,” he said Wednesday.
Police say a gunman stormed a mosque in Quebec City’s Ste-Foy district and opened fire on men who were attending prayer.
Alexandre Bissonnette, 27, was arrested Sunday night following the massacre in which 19 people were also wounded, including two who were still in critical condition on Tuesday.

On Monday, Bissonnette was charged with six counts of first-degree murder and five of attempted murder using a restricted firearm.

Authorities have refused to specify what type of firearm was used in the mass shooting.
Funeral services for for Mamadou Tanou Barry, Ibrahima Barry and Azzedine Soufiane will be held Friday at the Quebec City convention centre.
