Youths charged after BB gun fired inside Saskatoon school

SASKATOON – Two youths have additional charges after a spring-loaded BB gun was discharged inside a Mayfair school today around 11:15 a.m.

Police were called after staff members detained a 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl after they allegedly brought the gun to school.

The Saskatoon Police Services says the BB gun was fired at other students inside the school.

No one was seriously injured.

Both are charged with possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

The male teen has also been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and eight counts of assault with a weapon. Two counts of assault with a weapon were added to the girl’s charge.

The youths will be held in custody until a Justice of the Peace can see them this evening.
