A Société de transport de Montreal (STM) bus, with three people on board, had a close call Sunday morning after overnight weather, including freezing rain, made for messy road conditions.
The city bus was heading east on Ste-Catherine Street at 5 a.m., when the driver lost control of the bus near Frontenac Street, in what police described as slippery road conditions.

The bus slid out of control hitting a small concrete divider, before coming to a stop against a residential building.
The bus driver, a 42-year-old man, and a 49-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, according to police.
The second passenger, a 29-year-old man, was tended to at the scene by Urgences-Santé paramedics.
Montreal police spokesperson Benoit Boiselle confirmed speed and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.

There was no damage to the building but a gas line was clipped as the bus careened out of control, causing a small gas leak.
Gaz metro crews were called to the scene and the leak was quickly capped.
Several streets in the area were closed but have since reopened.
