Nine cars also went off the road on Highway 125 in the same area as the pile-up.

RCMP Cpl. Jennifer Clarke said Friday that officers are on scene on the 102 assisting EHS and fire services. Clarke said it looks like there are some injuries, though they don’t know the extent.

The collision is in the southbound lane of the highway heading toward Halifax, near Fort Ellis.

The transport truck is in the northbound lane, however it’s across much of the road, meaning the highway is pretty much blocked in that area.

“We are absolutely asking people, if they can change their plans, think hard about whether you need to be on the roads today because it is not nice out,” Clarke said.

Sections of Highways 104 and 101 are also closed due to conditions and collisions.
