A Regina man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed while she was sleeping.
Regina police said they were called to a home in the 200-block of Froom Crescent on the morning of Dec. 5 for a report of an injured woman.

She was found with numerous stab wounds. Police later determined she had been stabbed with a tool used in sheet metal work.
The 36-year-old woman was taken to hospital for treatment. There is no word on her current condition.
The man, who was living in the home as a renter, fled in his vehicle.
He was arrested near Virden, Man., after RCMP detained him when his vehicle went off the road.

Wesley Jettediah Brookes, 18, was returned to Regina on Dec. 9 and charged with attempted murder.
He made his first appearance in Regina provincial court on Monday.
