Manitoba RCMP were searching for a missing 62-year-old snowmobiler near the Assiniboine River, according to a news release.
The missing man from the RM of St. Francois Xavier was reported missing Monday evening just before 8 p.m. He was snowmobiling near the Assiniboine River and after a search of the area, a hole was found in the thin ice.

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team conducted a dive in the area but can’t continue due to strong river current.
Manitoba RCMP are continuing the investigation.
