A 45-year-old man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with a man’s death on Samson Cree First Nation over the weekend.
At around 3:30 a.m Sunday, Maskwacis RCMP were called to a home following an altercation at the residence. Police said efforts were made to resuscitate a man found in medical distress but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man has been identified as 55-year-old Neil Omeasoo. RCMP did not release the cause of his death.

On Tuesday, RCMP said 45-year-old Colin Reed was charged with manslaughter in connection with Omeasoo’s death.
Reed was taken into custody and was set to appear in court Tuesday.
Samson Cree Nation is located about 100 kilometres south of Edmonton.
