Driver pulled over for speeding tells Manitoba RCMP he had to go to the bathroom

The winter road conditions did little to deter a man allegedly caught speeding on the Trans-Canada Highway Thursday night.

RCMP posted online the 26-year-old driver was clocked going 161 km/h west of Brandon. The speed limit in the area is 110 km/h.

According to police, after the driver was pulled over he told officers he was speeding because “he had to go to the bathroom.”

Police also posted the ticket the man was given.

The Manitoba Highways website has the section of the Trans-Canada Highway listed as partially ice covered.

The man had been pulled over earlier in Red Deer, Alberta for allegedly driving 151 km/h.

Police are reminding drivers there are no excuses when it comes to speeding.
