Garth Brooks adds yet another Edmonton concert date

Rejoice music fans, Garth Brooks has added more shows in Edmonton — and judging from the early response, they will all be packed shows.

The country music superstar announced last week he is bringing his world tour with Trisha Yearwood to Rogers Place this February.

On Friday morning several extra concert dates were announced. Brooks will perform in Edmonton on the following days and times:

  • Friday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
  • Saturday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.
  • Sunday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.

In less than an hour after tickets went on sale, over 51,000 were sold for the five shows.

On Monday, Dec. 12, another show was added:

  • Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.

Tickets for the sixth show will go on sale Thursday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m.

It’s the first time Garth Brooks has played in Edmonton in 21 years, according to CISN Country. His previous shows at Northlands Coliseum on August 10 to 12, 1996 saw 50,871 tickets sold.

Tickets went on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. The hashtag # quickly became the top trending topic in Edmonton.

They will only be sold online through Ticketmaster, and there is a limit of 8 tickets per customer. The concert will be credit-card entry only, so the card you use to buy your ticket will have to be scanned at the door to get in.

Tickets will be $79.98 ($64.13, plus $9.60 tax, plus $6.25 service charge).
