It’s always an event when it snows in Metro Vancouver.

Without seeing a significant snowfall in around 1,000 days, people of the region were excited to hear there may be a dusting overnight on Sunday.
But what was supposed to only be about five centimetres turned into 15 in some areas by about 5 p.m. on Monday as heavy snow continued to fall across much of the B.C. South Coast.
Simon Fraser University on Burnaby Mountain was hit particularly hard with upwards of 33 centimetres.
Some parts of Metro Vancouver received a light dusting of snow last winter, but this is the first time over two centimetres of snow has been recorded at Vancouver International Airport since Feb. 24, 2014.
Whether the snow brought joy or misery, it was certainly picturesque.
