A 41-year-old Dawson Creek man is facing child pornography charges following an investigation by Abbotsford police (APD).
In August 2016, the Abbotsford police’s major crime unit launched an investigation after being given a tip that a local man was uploading images of child sexual abuse.
Although the suspect moved from Abbotsford to Dawson Creek, the APD continued its investigation with the help of the Dawson Creek RCMP.
On Oct. 25, Dawson Creek RCMP searched a home in the community and found a laptop and file storage devices that supported the suspect being charged.
Jason Christopher Reedel was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography and making available child pornography on Nov. 21.
Reedel was previously convicted of possessing child pornography in 2014 as a result of a Langley RCMP investigation.
