A 13-year-old girl is shaken after allegedly being attacked by a stranger early Thursday evening.
Vancouver Police say the teenage girl was walking on St. George Street near 20th Avenue in the Riley Park neighbourhood of Vancouver when a man ran up behind her and knocked her to the ground and hit her leg.
He then grabbed her backpack and searched through it before running off, police said.
Police searched the area but could not locate the man. They say he is described as having a dark complexion, is about 40 years old, 6′ tall with a heavy build.
He was wearing dark clothing and had a slight accent.
Police believe the suspect’s motive was robbery, and they have recorded evidence from the scene. They are also looking for any possible video evidence in order to identify the suspect.
