WINNIPEG – The goalies ruled on Tuesday at MTS Centre.
The Iowa Wild defeated the Manitoba Moose 1-0 in overtime. Moose goalie Eric Comrie and Wild goaltender Alex Stalock combined to make 62 saves over nearly 62 minutes of scoreless hockey.
Wild forward Teemu Pulkkinen was the only player to light the goal lamp as he took advantage of a bad line change to end the game at 1:26 of the extra period.
The Moose carried the play for much of the opening period as they outshot the Wild 14-9. But Iowa turned the tables in the middle stanza as they put 19 shots on the Moose goal to only six for Manitoba. The final shots were 35-28 in favour of Iowa as Comrie finished with 34 saves.
Scott Kosmachuk, Anthony Peluso, Brandon Denham, Jan Kostalek and Jake Baker all missed the game with injuries.
