Saskatoon gets sandwiched between systems tomorrow that’ll help warm us up a bit!

Saskatoon Forecast

Today

Yesterday’s rain and snow overnight created extremely slick road condition this morning across the region.

Temperatures fell to -1 overnight under mostly cloudy skies before dropping further during the day to -2 by noon as cooler air sinks in behind the system that brought yesterday’s precipitation.

Conditions will remain mostly cloudy and cool for the rest of the day with temperatures between zero and -2 expected right through the afternoon.

Tonight

That cloud cover will stick around tonight as temperatures fall back into mid-minus single digits.

Wednesday

Tomorrow Saskatoon gets sandwiched between a high pressure system to our northeast and a low building in west of the province.

That’ll help drive in and mix down some warmer air through the day as southeasterly winds pick up to sustained speeds of 20 to 30 km/h with gusts upwards of 40 km/h.

Despite starting the day with wind chill values in minus double digits, we’ll see temperatures recover up a few degrees above freezing by the afternoon.

Thursday-Friday

A trough will swing through into the early morning hours of Thursday bringing a chance of early morning flurries that’ll then clear out leaving mostly cloudy skies to finish the day and a daytime high just above freezing.

Friday looks like we may finally get a break from the clouds and see some sunshine and a daytime high up as warm as 3 as the next system builds into Alberta and pushed in the heat.

Upper ridging on Friday will help bring back some sunshine to end off the work week. SkyTracker Weather

Work Week Outlook

That system will push into northern Saskatchewan on Saturday, potentially giving us a few more sunny breaks on Saturday before it drags along a cold front into early Sunday that may pick up a few flurries and bring back the clouds.

Daytime highs look like they should top out just above freezing on Saturday before sinking back a few degrees below on Sunday as an upper trough cools us off into next week.
