SASKATOON – Shane McColgan scored once and set up three others as the Saskatoon Blades beat the visiting Regina Pats 6-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League (WHL) play.
Josh Nicholls scored twice for the Blades (8-9-1) and Matthew Pufahl had a goal and two assists.

Kyle Schmidt and Adam Kambeitz each scored once to round out Saskatoon’s scoring.
Morgan Klimchuk scored twice for the Pats (8-12-1), who lost for the first time in three outings, and Adam Rossignol had the other.
Andrey Makarov made 20 saves for the win as Teagan Sacher turned away 37 shots in a losing cause.
The two clubs combined for 159 minutes in penalties, which included 14 fighting majors and four 10-minute misconducts.
Saskatoon went 3-for-6 on the power play while Regina went 2-for-9.
