The criminal harassment case of Toronto media personality Mike Bullard has been put over until Dec. 9.

The accused and his lawyer Arthur Stern did not appear in court on Wednesday.

The charges, which include criminal harassment and obstruction of justice, stem from allegations involving CityNews reporter Cynthia Mulligan.

A report in the Toronto Star quoted Bullard as saying the charges stem from a “bad breakup” and it is a “very personal thing.”

Global News obtained a statement from Bell Media that confirmed Bullard had departed Newstalk1010 as a radio host on Oct. 5, but offered few other details.

“Mike’s show had been part of the Newstalk 1010 lineup since 2010, when the station was owned by Astral Media. Bell Media acquired Astral and its media properties including Newstalk 1010 in July 2014,” it stated.

“Jim Richards has taken over the hour and the Jim Richards Show now runs 12-4 p.m. Other than that, we don’t discuss any details of contractor or employee matters.”
