The RCMP in Vernon is trying to find out who is distributing flyers promoting websites that may represent extremist groups and people.
The headline on the posters reads “Wake Up.” Underneath there is a list of websites. One of the sites appears to be a white supremacist message board, while another website appears to advocate for holocaust denial.
The flyers were found in residential neighbourhoods, attached to a mailbox, at the police station, on street signs around the community and near a school.
“We have consulted with the B.C. Hate Crime Team and are continuing our investigation into this matter.”

Noseworthy said the flyers don’t contain any overt message targeting any specific group or individuals.
“Based on our findings, the flyers do not constitute an offence under the Criminal Code,” Noseworthy said.
The RCMP refused Global Okanagan’s request for an on camera interview regarding the posters.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Vernon RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
