Alberta RCMP renew plea for help finding man alleged to have had violent encounter with Mountie

Police in northern Alberta renewed a plea to the public to help them find a 32-year-old man wanted on over 30 charges.

On Friday, Peace River RCMP said Malcolm Henry Testawits is wanted on charges including assaulting a police officer and robbery.

Police allege Testawits stole a Mountie’s unmarked police vehicle near Fairview, Alta. on Oct. 25 following an altercation with the officer in which the officer fired his gun.

Alberta’s police watchdog, the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team, is now investigating police actions in connection with the incident.

According to the RCMP, Testawits is believed to be in the Grimshaw, Peace River, Fairview or Hines Creek areas of Alberta. They said he is also known to spend time in B.C. Communities like Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and Salmon Arm.

Testawits is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, being about 5’9″ tall and weighing 146 pounds.

Anyone who thinks they have spotted Testawits is advised not to approach him and to contact police immediately.
