The man featured in a viral video of a racist rant in Abbotsford, has turned himself into police.
Abbotsford Police charged Karry Vernon Corbett with uttering threats, two counts of assault and one count of causing a disturbance on Saturday, Oct. 29.
On Oct. 23, video surfaced of a man yelling at a South Asian man in a parking lot on South Fraser Way.
In the 2:20 minute video, he calls the person a “Hindu” and a “P*ki” who “should go back to India.”
He also calls him a “camel-riding motherf*****” and other racial slurs not appropriate for publication.
Corbett, who resides in Hope, has a long list of criminal charges in B.C.
His next court appearance is on Nov. 9 for an unrelated 2015 incident in which he is charged with two counts of uttering threats. He’ll be back in Abbotsford provincial court on Nov. 10 for separate charges of driving while prohibited.
Four days later, Corbett will return to court to face charges of assault with a weapon stemming from a May 2015 incident.
He’ll be in court on Nov. 22 in relation to October’s charges.
