WINNIPEG — A 45-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with possession of child pornography.
In June, a Winnipeg man, who has not been identified, uploaded child sexual abuse images to a chat room online, police said.
The upload was identified by the site. It was then reported and determined the user was using an IP address in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit launched an investigation and identified a residence and suspect in the St. James area.
On Nov. 2 a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence.
A desktop computer in the residence showed child sexual abuse images involving a toddler, police said.
