10 men charged in alleged ‘dial-a-dope’ operation in southern Alberta

Police have arrested seven men and are searching for three others in connection to an alleged dial-a-dope operation uncovered in southern Alberta.

The charges come following a three-month investigation in Brooks which targeted suppliers and street-level dealers.

Arrest warrants have been issued for:

  • 28-year-old Abdifatah Ahmed
  • 21-year-old Mamady Cissoko
  • 20-year-old Ahmed Maalin

The arrests took place between Oct. 28 and 31. All of the accused are from Brooks.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Teams (ALERT) alleges the men played a “significant role” in cocaine trafficking within Brooks, with Yusuf acting as the ringleader.

ALERT said 14 grams of cocaine and various drug-trafficking paraphernalia was seized during a search of Yusuf’s home.

The City of Brooks is located about 200 kilometres east of Calgary.
